This past weekend, I attended the Tournament of Arts in the Barony of Flaming Griffin. The actual piece I entered was a new magic routine, and got some great feedback the panel of performance laurels, and some one on one magic discussion with Dr. Henry Best.
Outside of my feedback session, I got to catch up with a lot of the A&S folks I’ve met here and there since I rejoined the SCA, and met a lot of great new people. There’s so many to recall and some names I didn’t even have the mind to get, but for some highlights: I had some great discussions about my leather working with Auðin Hrafnsson and Brandan O Corraidhe, talked techniques at length with fellow moneyer Konrad Mailander, and geeked out over Wheel of Time cloaks with Cerian Cantwr.
I also came with a donation to the Crown. After seeing the amazing influx of new members at Maidens, I brought 15 or so chalices and mugs acquired from raiding goodwills around Bloomington, as I hope our numbers continue to grow and the society continues to flourish.
