Earlier this year, shortly after Festival of the Maidens 2024, warder Liu Kuaici took me on as a cadet, and into his household, the House of the Red Lotus
Through a running joke of our heraldic colors/which colors we wore the most, we ended up with lotus color code names.
The Power Rangers jokes were already plentiful, and I figured it would be a fun idea to have some symbol of membership in the household.
The lotus image was embossed onto leather using a custom 3D printed stamp, modeled in Fusion 360 and printed in resin at a 3mm depth with a 5mm backing plate.
After embossing, the lotus image was colored using Angelus Acrylic Leather Paint. The image was then given a dark wash and the unpainted leather antiques using Fiebings Medium Brown Vintage Gel, before being dealed with Leather Sheen.
The original 6 medallions were presented to my fellow lotuses at Three Saints: The Baronies Strike back (May 11, 2024), and were very well received.
Additional medallions were presented individually to members at or shortly after their induction into the household.
