Notes
These coins did not have any historical examples to inspire their design, as they were commissioned to just display the badge of the recipient and the order.
Similarly to the pelican tokens for Gregory Bryant, these dies were primarily engraved. Just by comparing the two side to side, it’s quite thrilling to see how much my engraving technique has improved.

In addition to a few hundred aluminum and a few dozen pewter coins, one pure silver coin was struck as a gift to the premier.
Process
These dies utilized a new technique that I learned from Master Arion the Wanderer, which uses extremely small ceramic files to roughen areas of the polished surface of the idea, which creates a distinctly different texture on the struck coin, akin to frosted glass.

This technique is especially useful for adding definition to create a feeling of depth or separation between different parts of the design. You can see it utilized in the chevron of the Obverse.
These ceramic stones are designed for polishing extremely small and hard to reach spots on jewelry, and can be purchased HERE.
