Notes
These coins were not designed with any particular historical designs in mind, but rather as an homage to Midrealm’s rapier fighters.
This was however my first casting of a two-sided coin, as my previous coin-based pewter casting comprised blank disks to use as planchets, or a one-sided medallion that could be adapted into a coin-like token.
This process creates a significantly chunkier coin than the struck coins, as the piece needs to be thick enough for the molten pewter to flow into the mold. Because of this I plan to use this technique primarily for coins that are used for a specific event or limited period of time, as the material expenditure is too high to justify producing them for regular pocket coinage.
